What these terms cover

These terms apply to your use of linxaccounting.com. By using the site, you accept them.

They are not the terms on which we act for clients. Those are set out in an engagement letter, which is agreed and signed before any work begins.

Who runs this website

This website is run by Linx Accounting Services Limited, trading as Linx Accounting, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11742116, registered office 124-128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. You can contact us at info@linxaccounting.com.

We are an independent practice

We are an independent accountancy practice. We are not part of, endorsed by or acting for HMRC, Companies House or any other government body, in the UK or the UAE. UK government services are at gov.uk.

The information on this site is general

Everything on this site, including the blog, is general information. It is not tax, accounting or legal advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. The same rule can apply quite differently to two people whose situations look alike.

Do not act, or decide not to act, on the basis of anything on this site alone. Take advice on your own position before you make a decision that matters.

When we become your adviser

Contacting us, by the website forms, email, telephone or WhatsApp, does not make us your accountant or adviser, and neither does sending us information. We act for you only once an engagement letter setting out the work has been agreed and signed, and the identity checks the law requires have been completed.

Until then, responsibility for your tax affairs, filings and deadlines stays with you.

Accuracy

Tax law, rates and HMRC practice change. Where a page gives figures, it says which tax year they apply to. We keep the site up to date as far as we reasonably can, but we do not promise that everything on it is current, complete or free from error when you read it.

The UAE page

The UAE page is general information. It describes the work we do, and we do not offer representation before the UAE Federal Tax Authority.

Using the forms

When you use the contact form or the referral form, please give accurate details. Use the referral form only for someone who has agreed to be contacted by us. Do not use either form to send identity documents, bank details or tax records, or to send marketing.

You must not misuse the site: for example, by trying to gain access to parts of it you are not meant to reach, interfering with how it works, or introducing anything harmful.

Links to our sister brands and other websites

Linx Tax Defence and Linx Automate are trading names of the same company. Each has its own website, and its own terms and privacy policy apply there.

Where we link to other websites, such as gov.uk, we do so for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data.

Copyright and trade names

The text, design and graphics on this site belong to Linx Accounting Services Limited or are used under licence. You may view and print pages, and share links to them, for your own reference. You may not copy, republish or adapt the content, or use our names or logos, without our written permission.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the general information on this site, or from the site being unavailable or containing an error.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Our responsibility for work we do for clients is governed by the engagement letter, not by these terms.

Regulation and complaints

Linx Accounting Services Limited is licensed and regulated by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), firm licence 4859891. ACCA is also our supervisory authority under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZC094764.

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at info@linxaccounting.com so that we can put it right. If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to ACCA, which operates a complaints procedure for the firms it regulates.

Privacy and cookies

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, and what the site stores on your device in our cookie policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and the version on the site when you use it is the one that applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
